Football Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great success on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
