Fresh Details Come to Light About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Remains

Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely deaths of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

When she went into the house, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now in custody and denied bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source also disputed several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Additionally disputed circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation applies to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
