I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
