Salah Issues Apology to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.

The Fallout

He was omitted from a vital match after making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had deteriorated.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

Team Unity

Jones insisted that the squad's reaction remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.

He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not intended to cause disruption.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and on a positive run.”
