This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm within the fandom. From the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming strong views on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive appearances that emphasize their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is based on a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why Aries far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.

The Bull – Super Heracross

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Look at this total royalty. You cannot convince me this creature is not the life of every party, offering an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to listen. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly easy to imagine Super Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds very similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Mega Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also recognized for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.

Leo – Super Starmie

Oh, did you assume I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the king of the stars? Besides the fact that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Players couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion offers to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with constant acid reflux. The sign known for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected across this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down face that’s just like the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of creating a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this sweet, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's skills. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to stress more about others.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through pure hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a performance. Being a Archer myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even mentions how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the identical vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Super Form that trainers meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.

The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure

Aloof element Aquarius is possibly the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's general daunting presence is also very Aquarius.
